Quilter's Weekend Away

The Weekend at The Hermitage at Mittagong was wonderful. I finished off my Stable Bag, and covered my little carry bag with fabric. I also worked on Alison's baby quilt.

Looking out over the paddocks early in the morning with the sun shining through the trees was just so uplifting. The wind became stronger on Saturday night and Sunday was very cold with a high wind chill. Definately coat and scarf weather.

We will definately have to go back down to Mittagong to do a shop crawl, we didn't have time to check them all out.

"Significant" Birthday Quilt

When one has a "0" birthday in our quilt group the members usually make a block each for the birthday girl. I had so many collections of blocks I didn't want any more so the girls put some together for me. Isn't it wonderful! I am very lucky to have such friends.

Craft /Quilt Show 2010

I took 3 days Annual Leave to attend the Quilt Show this week. I had a wonderful time learning how to make felted boots. The sample pair are booties which would probably fit a 2 year old! The next pair are for David!
I attended workshops on raw edged applique and felted scarves. I volunteered as a White Glove Lady for the Quilters Guild, for a couple of hours. There were plenty of temptations but I managed to resist most.
Two Craft Forum ladies made contact and it was fun to catch up. I am taking David along today to do a class in Embroidery for Left Handers. He is looking forward to it.

Wedding Reception

The Wedding Reception/Celebration Party went very well. We were really happy with how people moved around and introduced themselves and talked together. The food from Thyme Caterers was amazing. Something for everyone even the people with 'special needs'!Here is the cake.

Old Blocks are New Again

Frances put together a pile of blocks I have had put away since I left Grafton. Each of the blocks is signed by the maker. The top is beautiful, and there are a few left to put on the back.

A Beautiful Gift

I have some wonderful friends in my Quilt Group. Recently Annette gave me a quilt she had made. I admired it for the beautiful floral fabrics and her lovely work.
